Position Overview: The Sales Engineer is responsible for managing the complete sales cycle within the Benelux region with focus an Service products like spare parts, overhaults or retrofits. From identifying and generating leads to finalizing sales and ensuring customer satisfaction, this role is key to the continued success and growth of our business. You'll have the chance to work with a small, enthusiastic team and take ownership of projects from lead to invoice, with ample opportunities for personal and professional growth. The reporting line is directly to the MD of Schelde Gears, besides that you will be in intensive contact with the RENK marine sales team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Planning: Analyse the RENK installed base, market insights and customer behavior to create sales strategies aligned with the RENK company goals.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Maintain and grow an existing customer base, acting as their primary contact.
  • Lead Generation: Actively seek out new business opportunities and promote RENK products and services to potential customers. Roll-out centrally defined Sales Campaigns in Benelux region.
  • Value-Based Sales: Collaborate with the Customer Care Centre to create tailored quotes that emphasize the unique value of our products.
  • Customer Engagement: Plan and execute regular customer visits to showcase our products, address needs, and build strong relationships.
  • Sales Process Management: Handle the entire offer process, from initial quote requests to invoicing, ensuring smooth transitions.
  • Order Management: Oversee the order process, including order tracking, customer communication, and timely delivery.
  • Customer Support: Provide technical assistance and resolve any issues or claims during the sales process.
  • Sales Administration: Maintain accurate records, sales forecasts, and planning tools to ensure efficient operations.

  • Autonomy: Take control over your calendar. Your home base is somewhere in the Netherlands or Belgium; your work in the Benelux region and will be in the Vlissingen office at least twice a month to catch up with the management and team.

Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Minimum associate degree (level 5), or a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or a related field (depending on experience).
  • Technical & Commercial Affinity: A strong understanding of both technical products and sales processes.
  • Languages: Fluent in Dutch and English, both written and spoken.
  • Experience: Experience in the maritime industry or service sector is an advantage.
  • Network: A well-established network of contacts in the maritime sector within the Benelux region would be an advantage

Compensation and benefits:

More than competitive fixed monthly salary. Besides a fixed salary, we will offer a result-based bonus, a company car and other benefits as defined in the collective labor agreement of the Metal Working branche (cao Metaalbewerkingsbedrijf). This implies 38 days off and PMT pension. Of course we offer the possibility to develop, doing courses and trainings outside, or within the Renk group.
