Key Responsibilities

The Field Service Engineer (m/f/d) is responsible for maintaining the uptime of propulsion systems in the field. Managing the complete service cycle from identifying technical problems to solving them. This role is key to the continued success and growth of our business.

  • Globally and independently carry out and lead repairs and inspections of gearboxes including attached systems for Schelde Gears and the Renk Group.
  • Supervise assembling and commissioning of new gearboxes.
  • Troubleshooting of e.g. hydraulic and PLC controlled systems.
  • Reporting and advising the management and customer.

Qualifications

  • Educational Background: Completed at least MBO-4 education in mechanical engineering or marine mechanical engineering.
  • Technical & Client Affinity: A strong understanding of both technical products and client needs.
  • Personal Quality and attitude: Flexible, independent, client and a result oriented attitude. Problem solving abilities and good contact skills. Willingness to travel globally extensively.
  • Experience: Experience in the maritime industry or service sector is an advantage. Experience with (ship) propulsion installations. Affinity with modern control techniques.
  • Languages: Fluent in Dutch and English, both written and spoken.
  • Reporting Skills: Basic reporting skills in MS Office.
  • Residence: Living in the west of the Netherlands.
